Please let me know when you may have another litter available. We had a giant Airdale about 20 years ago. He was 120 lbs and a little agressive, I was hoping to find one around 50 to 60 lbs. Thanks,

Airedale Terrier Breed Review by Dave

Airedales can be one of the most stubborn, hard headed, fearless, loyal, and loving dog breeds one can ever have. Highly recommended for active people/ families because of exercise needs and mental stimulus needs, otherwise they become very bored and destructive. Great all purpose dog bred from good water lines, hunting lines. War hero dogs aplenty in WWI, and police dogs before being overtaken by the now popular German Shepherd and Belgian Malinios. The only thing better than having 1 ADT is having 2

I had a female Airedale Terrier for 18 yrs. When she passed with a Heart attack. She was a neat dog and she played and was a good watch dog. I would get another one, however I can not believe how much dogs run for payment

Airedale Terrier Breed Review by Debbie Portzline

As a kid, we owned an Airedale. His name was Teddy. He loved to hunt, we lived on 100+ acres at the time and it was great for him. He was super smart and was gentle unless you were a cat, groundhog or such. Tore the bark off of a tree trying to get to cat one time. Loved the snow and acted like a plow with his nose to the ground in the snow. Would be covered in snowballs hanging from his ears and face when he came in. Loved getting stinky and then wanting to lay our with you in the summer. He wondered off one day to never return. He is missed.

Insane as puppies, you must let them burn themselves out to get a drop of piece. They say 40-65 lbs I have no idea where they got those weights, as I just visited a 105 LB 1 year old pup and mom is 90 lbs.

Airedale Terrier Breed Review by Aleasha

I love Airedale Terriers! They are medium-large, sturdy and very athletic. This breed has tons of energy, but if they are well-trained and well-exercised, they are calm and dignified. They are exceptionally versatile and can learn to do almost anything! Airedale Terriers are sensible guardians. Airedale Terriers shed much less than most breeds.

I owned an Airedale and a Min Pin at the same time, it was hilarious to see the struggle of wills between the two. Great dog and a wonderful companion!

The Airedale Terrier is the largest of the terriers and was recognized by the AKC in 1888. Descending from a now extinct terrier, the Airedale was thought to originate in the valley of Aire in England. This very intelligent breed was used as a messenger for the British in World War I. Their popularity increased in the early 1900’s, becoming America’s most popular breed in the 1920’s. One of the most notable Airedale pups was Laddie Boy, Warren G Harding’s presidential pup. Laddie Boy was the first dog to regularly have press coverage and even has a statue of himself, which was made in memory of his owner.
Recognizable characteristics of this breed include a long flat head, high set tail, and dense, non-shedding, wiry outer coat with a soft undercoat. Their coat needs to be hand stripped twice a year, more frequently if they compete in dog shows. The Airedale needs regular exercise, including daily walks. They were bred to chase ground animals, so if they are running without a leash and see a small animal, they will chase them due to their hunting instincts. These active, intelligent pups learn quickly, but do tend to get bored easily. It is important to train them well and keep them engaged in activities. When training, Airedale Terriers respond well to praise. They are comical, friendly and make a great family pet, but they need proper training to know that they are not in charge.
