Chorkie Breed Review by Colin

I think Chorkies are wonderful., they are cute, playful, and fluffy. My dog looks more different from other Chorkies, she looks more like a chihuahua. Also, She is a delight to be around a real people pleaser.

We fell in complete love with our Marina. We had her for 6 years from a 10 week old as a pup. Sadly we lost her to someone hitting her with a truck. We are in horrific mourning. I would love to send you pictures but cant see where to send.

Yes ! I had a very spunky loving chorkie for three years. Ms.Martha was her name. July 4th she took follow out the door behind the griller ,a neighbor's yard man had brought his Rottweiler to work and his dog wondered in my yard and Ms.Martha argued and by the time we realized she was woofing at the big dog the rot had shook her and her cry bark startled us. We retrieved her and the dog ran off not to be found . His owner put him in the truck and drove away . Leaving my Ms. Martha injured she lived about twenty minutes after that my heart broke . I'm in search for another chorkie girl with a similar coat of colors black with blonde breast and head and tan legs if at all possible.

I had a Chorkie for 13 years before she succumb to to cancer. She was my first small dog and turned out to be my best small dog. I have a papillon, what a ball of fun. And just on 6/15 we had put down our Pembroke Corgi of 8 years and our Sheltie of 10 years.

We had a chorkie for almost 15 years. Max was a treasure to our family. He was wheaton in color. He was always energetic when we were but also loved to snuggle. He was my shadow, whether it was 15 mile walks in the summer with my wife and I or joining my daughter and I sled riding in the winter. Super affectionate - when I met him, he'd hand out kisses so fast you couldn't see it coming. Very patient... when my daughter was around 10, she made a horse saddle for him out of duct tape. (Her dolls would ride.) She would put it on him and we'd laughed solid for 5 minutes mostly because he would just stand there looking at us, cocking his head. I think he knew it was funny. He loved to play tug of war even when later he lost most of us teeth (we could not get him to chew dog bones and we weren't committed to keeping his teeth clean.) He was very obedient... I would use him for pet photography and he was willing to do whatever I asked. We were able to house train him pretty quickly. And later he would hold it for 8 hours or more if we were gone for a while - like on Sundays. In short, our chorkie was, as my late father-in-law would say "the friendliest dog in the world". We miss him a lot. Hope this helps!

Our Chorkie is 4 1/2 months old and he is a hoot! Duke is about 4-5 pounds of pure fun! He plays hard and then crashes harder, LOL. He is so full of energy and love. He is very close to being house trained, although he doesn't like to get his feet wet in the rain/snow. We've only had him a few weeks, but he is already part of our family.

Chorkies are wonderful dogs for someone wanting a 24/7 companion. I'm disabled and my little guy, 7 lbs at 13 yrs old is light enough for me to carry. Negatives, they are noisy and don't do well with young children. They will bite if handled roughly and are delicate in skeleton. I would say this is a great dog for a retiree or disabled person who is looking for companionship. These are Velcro dogs, always sitting in your lap. Mine has awful separation anxiety and will howl when separated from me.both breeds are tough to house train. It can be done with consistency and patience. Mine doesn't go out in rain, wind or snow. He is trained to potty pads and outdoors but it took ten years to get it done.

We are totally in love with our Chorkie! He is only 4 months and we have only had him two weeks but things couldn't be going better. He is a very friendly, loving, outgoing puppy who loves to play, snuggle and give kisses. He is also incredibly smart and is virtually house trained already, has already learned a good amount of commands and seems eager to learn more. I don't think we could have picked a better small breed dog if we tried. We would def get another Chorkie in the future!
