Bright, fun, sweet, loyal, beautiful & totally lovable! I have had collies as a pet since I was three years old now in my sixties I just lost my latest collie two weeks ago, I am heartbroken but so grateful to have had these amazing dogs as a part of my life. If they are a bit more to care for there spirited, characterful, smart, perceptive & responsive personality is such a joy it is worth it and there is no dog more soft or nice to snuggle, to say I adored each and every one of my collies would not be an exaggeration, each was one of a kind yet similar in there most basic character they have given my life a continuity I cherish, if you don’t love your collie as much as I have loved mine shame on you, they are delightful!

we have just lost our beautiful Kaity 5th N0v she had an inoperable tumour in her nose so we made the heartbreaking decision to let her go. Kaity was our 4th Collie we have had them all our 55yrs of marriage. Everyone of them had the most beautiful temperament but our Kaity was extremely gentle she leaves the biggest hole in our hearts..and her "sister" Maggie an 11yr old Maltese/Shihtzu is fretting for her so we are on the lookout for another beautiful collie pup.

I had wanted a collie all my life, being 13, lol There was a box of captain Crunch my parents bought and on the back of the box were puppies, one being a collie. If I ate enough of caption crunch, sent the box tops in I could win a collie! Needless to say I cant even look at a box of them without getting a little nauseous!!! Later, when I got married, I finally convinced my husband to get a collie. This enhanced my life with him (Beau Dugan) was magical. He sat and listened when I would cry, protected me and I will have to say, he was my very best friend.

I have had several breeds in my life. Never have I ever fallen hard for a breed until i got a collie. I have 2 smooth coats. Smart because they are thinkers and people pleasing; this also makes them so versatile. I'm very active from hiking and always on the go but also i do conformation, herding, agility, tricks and we are going to start bikejoring this summer. They can always keep up. If i ever fall behind them they come back for me waiting or helping by pulling on me. But if i have a day where i need to lay around the house they are right there with me.

I have had a male collie for 8 1/2 years what a great dog ....kids are now gone ...so it's me and him...we started walking 3 miles daily when he was 1 and still do it to this day...thanks to my walking partner I have lost 55 lbs over the years...we are both in great shape...grooming is a cinch ..brush daily for 3 minutes and groom them every 8 to 10 weeks....at 65 we enter about 6 .....5 K races a year ...we walk them...if you want a smart ...energetic ..loving dog...you can't go wrong...

A collie is an incredible pet and a true companion I raised 4,and my last one was Wallace who lived to 13.7 years. He was a ti-color. ,and the one that bonded the most. I miss him,and might be looking for another about 8 months.

We owned shelties for years but then I wanted to buy a collie after we lost our last sheltie. Her name is Murphy and she is a sable color and just beautiful. She is the most calm and laid back dog ever. She will lay n the yard or just follow us around the house and yard she wants to be wherever we are. She is the best dog ever!! Murphy is loving and very friendly. She stays in the yard and never goes out of it. She loves kids of all ages. I would buy another collie in a minute. Love this breed.

Greenfield Puppies

Living as a herding dog in England and Scotland for centuries, the Collie is a breed with unclear origins. This intelligent breed has been used for many tasks, such as guide dog, guard dog, and assisting in search and rescue. They have a great sense of direction which helps them with herding as well. Key characteristics of the Collie includes a wedge shaped face, a graceful gait, and a beautiful rough coat that comes in the colors of sable and white, tri-color, white, or blue merle. This playful pup requires daily walks and firm, consistent training from a confident leader. Though they love to join you on your walks, they also don’t mind hanging out around the house with their family. Brush once a week unless they are in their heavy shedding season. The Collie was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1885.
