Ryan and Wanita Wengerd began their puppy journey with the purchase of a female Miniature Poodle. They decided to raise a litter from that family pet, and now it has become their hobby. The Wengerd children are involved in every step of the way, handling the puppies as early as 3-4 days old right up until they go to their new forever families. The Wengerds operate Cuddly Critters Farmette and shipped their first litter in 2019. While they have been involved with this family project for a short time, they are passionate about raising healthy, happy puppies that are well socialized and about finding connections with good people who will love and care for their puppies throughout their lives. They have just one female Toy Poodle in addition to the Miniature Poodle that got them started in this venture. They enjoy watching their children interact with the dogs and their puppies. Their oldest plays dolls with the pups, pushing them around in a stroller. And the youngest, a curly haired boy, is just so adorable playing and interacting with those curly coated cuties. This really helps to socialize the puppies from a very early age. Wanita says that their family has had such wonderful experiences with customers as they arrive and fall instantly in love with their new puppy. The Wengerds do not kennel their puppies, but instead, offer a unique farm setting for them to play and be raised. The Miniature and Toy Poodles became a passion because their size was perfect for young children. In addition, the non-shedding and low dander qualities of the Poodle breed were perfect because allergies were an issue. As a result of house training their dams, they have found that the Toy and Miniature Poodles are very quick to learn and extremely smart. They find the Poodles to be great family dogs that are sweet and love to cuddle, and to be cuddled. Their dam has been genetically color tested, and the current litter of pups have all been color tested and genetically tested and cleared with no anomalies. Every puppy they sell is vet checked, and they keep them up to date on all shots and dewormings and strongly encourage their customers to do so as well.
