We nicknamed our little operation Ru Ru Ranch, after our original ‘Ru Ru’ Cyrus, a sweet, incredibly loyal chocolate lab who left us in late 2017 after thirteen years of his best life. We will always miss him. We are a small, non-commercial family breeder of AKC Pedigree Labrador Retrievers nestled in the mountains between Woodstock, Edinburg and Mt. Jackson in Virginia’s historic Shenandoah Valley.

Presently, we have two yellow and one black active dams. Lucas, our prized sire is a high-energy silver who loves to run, play, cuddle and swim. He rules the roost, so to speak. Daisy, our first yellow, regularly whelps gorgeous silver and charcoal lab puppies but we end up with quite a few chocolates and black labbies as well both from her and her sister Raya (who happen to be from the same litter. We’ve yet to whelp a yellow but our fingers are crossed! Sascha, our newest yellow dam is still a puppy herself and has recently been blessed with her first litter.

At Ru Ru Ranch, all our ‘breeding stock’ labs are our pets and we consider and treat them like family. They live with us and go places with us. We feed them a high-quality diet including raw eggs from our free-range chickens and raw meat scraps from a local butcher. We do not keep them outdoors, in kennels or trust their care to anyone outside of a chosen, trusted few. They are all healthy, vibrant and friendly and are given ample time to exercise and spend time in the sun. So, when we say we’re a family breeder, we mean every word of it. Our puppies’ good health, energy and fun-loving temperaments and social skills are a testament to that. Litters enjoy early life in a safe, clean, mostly indoor environment once whelped and receive constant human interaction and attention after 3-4 weeks old so they are well socialized.

Traits include but are not limited to excellent temperaments, high-energy, lovable & quirky personalities. All receive his/her first round of shots and de-worming prior to homing. Health guarantee included in contract. Parents on site; available for visitation on request and all parents’ pedigrees are posted on site.
