Our's is a Gordon and Brittney Spaniel Mix. The best dog in the world. Have had Clyde for 12 years now and still is so smart and active. Everybody in our area just loves him and some would like to have him! Doesn't lick at all, he smells you. Great bird hunter and loves to fish and chase squirrels and chippies. Acts almost human.

I've had 3 Gordon Setters. 2 of 3 we're show quality. Based on temperment I believe 1 wasn't purebred. Warning You need to know they are like children. I had everyone including vet that they are like children. They need alot of living training. After that they are a loving kid friendly and devoted dog. The first Gordon let the kids ride her around house. I dressed her in camo costume for Halloween as a joke, the trick or treaters loved it. The next year they all wanted to see her costume but she didn't have one. From that point on she had a costume. All she had to here is hat on and to the door she went. The kids parents told me to bring her by they had leftovers for her so my husband would take her from house to house. In 14 years I only saw aggression and that was when the neighbors dog was playing with her through the fence and her dad told her time to go and she said no playing with Ashleigh . He picked her up and put her back down real quick. I never heard her bark and growl like that and flew out to why. I started to apologize to her Dad and he told me she was protecting his 3 year old little girl and with Ashleigh there it made his daughter safe I never heard her bark that way before. If you are considering a Gordon Setters know training is a must and if done right you will love your Gordon. I've had dogs all my life Gordon. Setters are in a league of their own. If you are not at home when they are puppies crate is way to go. I never crated her and come home two days in a row and it was snowing the stuffing from the couch Hope this Helps. Absolutely the best dogs I have ever owned. Have owned two of them. They are less hyper, healthier, more easily trained and are soft beyond comparison. They are extremely good with children and I dont think I could get one to bite me for any reason. The BEST
