We just had to put our beautiful 12 yr old Maltese, Elvis down. He had a wonderful life and gave us so much joy. We know the breed well and our boy was a beautiful example until he got cancer and then heart disease, couldn’t eat and we couldn’t let him suffer. It’s very difficult as he was so loving and trusted us implicitly.

Yes I have had two Maltese in the past 22 years. I had Sugar and Misty. I just lost Misty to a collapsed trachea. She was 11 years old. It was so tough because she suffered and finally I had to put her down. She was my baby and so sweet and cute. Maltese are so precious and sweet.

We have owned two maltese and one has left this earth on Sunday much to our great loss. We have had four other very nice dogs, two Schnauzers, A Westie and A Welsh Terrier . All Four were great dogs snd loveable but not as loveable and as cuddly as a Maltese. We Are trying to find a small Female Maltese again one close to the Jupiter, Florida area so we could see it first. Hope you have a breeder near here. We also live in Newtown Square, Pa. near Phila. and if you have a breeder in that area a family member could see it there for us. Hope you can. help find us a loveable beautiful female maltese. .

I’ve had Malchies ever since I was a five-year-old child. I really can’t see myself having any other dog breed. Although I love all dogs! Purebreds or not. The Maltese will always have a place in my heart

My Maltese is now 13 years old and if you didn’t know her age you would think she was still a puppy. They have the best personalities. I do a lot of hand work so I would prefer not to have a dog in my lap. I know I get a lap dog and I don’t want her there, I would just put her at my side so she is close to me. I will pet her often and when she wants to be petted more or just a pat she takes her little paw and taps me on my leg or arm. She also believes that she is to eat anything I eat - can’t let them do that, I let her eat certain things that we’ll share. Her and her sister (Lhasa Apso) goes to the groomers every 4 to 6 weeks. My groomer will cut their nails, face, ears and baths them for 1/2 what it cost to groom them and they stay looking nice. Since I am getting older I have decided to get another Maltese, they are so much lighter and smaller than a Lhasa. I love my Lhasa to death, they’re solid and weight between 18 & 20 pounds.

I had a Maltese for 14 years and she was incredible, truly the love of my life. I thought she would be about 6 lbs and she ended up being 10 which was wonderful because I am pretty active, love to walk etc and she could keep up! She was sturdy and healthy and beautiful but always a little defiant which still makes me laugh. House training was a challenge, she ate her own poop her whole life (we had vet after vet try and figure out why and we came to the conclusion she just liked it - gross!) Her teething phase was short lived. She liked to lay near by but wasn't a cuddler per say - this breed is incredible if you can be with them most of the time. I saw her deteriorate in her old age when, for about the 1st time in 14 years I had to leave her alone for 8 hours and she barked till she collapsed her trachea. I still feel so guilty about this. Truly an incredible breed. I don't actually think I could have a maltese again because of how much I miss her.... you'll never have another little one like them.

I have owned 6 maltese dogs, they are very loyal, loving and can be very well trained if you work with them. I have just lost my last maltese and my heart is broken, I have lost my best friend.

I own a dog, Snowball. His is adorable but will not stop barking! He bark at absolutely anything; people, cars, leaves, his own shadow, trees and sometimes absolutely nothing. You have to have some serious patience and a lot of free time to deal with a Maltese

I had a white Maltese named Bubby. He was my everything. I got him when he was about 2 yrs old. He was my shadow for the past 12 years. Sadly, on March 1 ,2018 he had a severe stroke and passed away in my arms. I and my husband were devastated. Bubby was like a child to us. We would like to have another white Maltese to help our family enjoy the amazing unconditional love we felt from Bubby.

I absolutely love the Maltese dogs! I had my Cody for 10 1/2 years an she died this past September! One of the most devastating thing in the world to experience, she was like my own baby that I had to care for, take to doctors, feed, bath, love an give 1000 kisses ! I miss her...

We got Axel (formerly Dazzle) from Greenfield. He has brought so much happiness to out home...we barely miss the kids at college (jk). He is smart and loving. He loves to lay near us, but he is not a real lap dog. He needs to be let out quite frequently. We love him to death!!

Greenfield Puppies

The Maltese is one of the oldest canine breeds. Often owned by royalty, this breed is known for their adorable button noses, dark round eyes, and soft white coats of hair (not fur). They are gentle, attentive, and loving. They learn quickly, especially when rewarded. Just make sure not to pamper them too much though, especially early on when training them. Maltese pups build close connections with and are very dependent on their owner. As for grooming, they require daily brushing and weekly baths if you keep their coat long. Their teeth should be brushed several times each week as well. The Maltese was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1888.
