We had a shorkie for the past almost 15 years. He was absolutely the best family pet. He was smart, full of personality, loving.... spoiled. He truly thought he was a kid. When we got him, our youngest was not quite 3 and our oldest was 7. He was great with young children. Did not shed, bark or chew things up. House training was not easy though, that did take longer than I expected. But would highly recommend.

My Shorkie Chi passed away last year and I miss my little buddy! She was the first small dog i had every owned but she had a larger than life personality. She kept up with the big dogs (labs) and had an amazing personality. The right amount of spunk and sweet wrapped up in an adorable little package. I have started looking for the Shorkie Chi mix but have not found that mix and it appears the Shorkie is the closest. I don't know if taking the Chihuahua mix out of the breed removes the spunk! It sure doesn't remove the adorable!

Love this breed. Her journey began with being a sister to a Westie, miniature American Eskimo, Border Collie and Samoyed mix, and a Black Labrador. She is ten in December and she recently lost her last sibling two months ago. We are both in our early sixties and realize she has been a wonderful dog. She is tiny but mighty! I had a shortie for 11 yrs. My Shadow he was a very good and loving dog, miss him immensely! To me they are a very smart breed. He was easily trained, very loving and great with ppl and other dogs. Down side I read up on this breed thier life span is pretty short. My Shadow passed away from heart enlargement. It just turn a year since he past. I'm beyond hesitant to get another one or another breed because the heartbreak is very hard.

Love shorkies! They are so love able! A down side is they get extremely attached and cannot be left alone. Our little guy has to come everywhere with us (even work) or he gets too anxious and scratches till his paws bleed. Regardless we love him and everyone (even people who don’t like dogs) tell me how cute he is.

We have the absolute cutest, sweetest lil guy you could ask for. Milo is energetic, plays well with children, smart, was easy to potty train, and does not shed. In the evening he’s a lapdog, taking turns snoozing on each of us! My daughter is allergic to dogs, and we never thought we could have one. She was around a friend’s shorkie, and surprisingly she had no issues. We got one, and she has been great with him too! Perfect 11 pound bundle of fun for us!

Our 3 month old shorkie, Charlie, is the best decision we have ever made. Hands down the best breed I've ever encountered. He's loving, playful, caring (he just knew something was up one day when I was in the midst of a tearful breakdown and came to give me all the kisses until my tears stopped), and of course cute to boot. We decided to try a small "hypoallergenic" (which doesn't mean too much- they still have dander) breed because we wanted a buddy since we're holding off on kids, but I'm pretty allergic to dogs. Though the first month or two were a little rough, it's getting better daily and he's absolutely perfect!

I found mine when it was 2 weeks old in a drainage culvert. His name is Gumbo . He will be 11 years old January .He has been the best dog I have ever owned. He loves kids, he loves other dogs, he is cuddly , he is friendly yet hes protective. Gumbo leans toward more of the sheltie type personality but he can be a little stubborn like a Corgi. In the wintertime , his coat is like a Sheltie and in the summertime, I trim him back and he looks like a Corgi. He loves to travel and he Is always ready to go. He makes the best companion. I don't know what I'd do without him .

We purchases a female Shorkie we found on Greenfield Puppies in January in January 2012 and are very happy. Mishu will be 2 in November and I am looking for another one. I have noticed that Mishu is not fond of other puppies though. She prefers dogs that are already matured to play with.

We purchased a Shorkie puppy in April from a Greenfield puppy breeder named Aaron from Christiana, PA. We are so happy with our puppy that we named Jaxzin. I have always owned Labrador Retrievers but as I got older, decided to get a small non-shedding dog. He is approximately 10 lbs and I groom him myself. He is awesome! He is low maintenance, playful, smart and was easy to potty and crate train. We love and adore him! Greenfield Puppies are not a puppy mill. They are a supplier of many different breeders to the public. When purchasing a puppy anywhere, you the consumer go to the residence and pick your puppy. You see the conditions the puppy is in and you decide as to whether or not it\'s a puppy mill. I recommend that you always see both parents of the puppy and see their temperment before making your decision. All I can say is I whole-heartedly recommend a Shorkie as a great pet. But they have a lot of energy, so you have to play with your Shorkie.
