Standard poodles are extremely intelligent, affectionate and playful. We have 3 standards and love them. The only downside is the grooming. But honestly that isn’t even an issue and we wouldn’t trade them for any other breed. They are an awesome family dog as well.

My Poodle was a fantastic dog! He took 1 day to potty train, two days to learn boundary with electric fence using flag system, and never was aggressive with anything. He once caught a rabbit but then just let it go! My previous dogs were German Wirehair Pointer and 3 Airedales, the poodle was smarter than all 4 of the other dogs put to together, but I wil say the Airedale was great fun and a real clown. The German Wirehair was very loyal and protective of children.

I am looking for a standard poodle, female-black or white. I just lost my best friend Roxie after 13 years. I am heartbroken. Totally. Please can you help me. She was a show dog. Although I chose not to show her, she had the best personality ever. Loved kids and loved chasing the ball in the dog park. Hated UPS guy unless we were outside to greet him. lol

I have been lucky to have had two Standard Poodles and now have a Moyen Klein Poodle which is a little smaller than a Standard. They are the best dog you could ever have!. Very bright, loving loyal dogs. I just can"t imagine life without a bright eyed poodle.

We have 3 standard poodles because of allergies. They are extremely intelligent, sweet natured and want to please us. They love being with us and are very good with our house cats. One of our cats curls up and sleeps with our Lily. Our oldest at 11 weeks old had a private training lesson and in 45 minutes the trainer had trained her to everything in his puppy class. They were very easy to housebreak. The next year we got our 2nd poodle puppy and our first poodle trained her. Not one accident in the house. We love the breed and would not get anything but a standard poodle.

I have owned Standaed Poodles and they are the just like living with a human. They want to be shown what you would like them to do. What area of the yard should they go to the restroom, where is their spot to lay in the house and they pretty much understand you when you talk to them or anyone else. Could not have another type of dog after having them.
