Toy Fox Terrier Breed Review by Alan Neuner

I have had 3, the 3rd purchased from Greenfield. He will be 4 in May. This dog is a gem. He is perfect in every way partly to his early upbringing with a pack and 7 children. He’s gentle, funny, loving, does tricks as very easy to train and house train. Everybody he meets loves him and he gets a lot of treats. Our previous one was not kid friendly like this one and we owe this one’s gentleness to being handled by 7 children ages 1-7 at an early age. Have had bigger wonderful dogs but would never get another breed. He goes everywhere with us! Thanks Greenfield. Al

We had 2 of these little girls. Very loyal and energetic. One was fearless while the other a little timid. they loved to be together and were always excited when you came home. Mischievous yes, always trying to outsmart you. One lived to be 13 and the other over 16. I miss them and would definitely get that breed again.

I adopted a TFT 4 years ago and I fell in love with the breed. My little Dot is super athletic, smart and sweet. She’s a little heat seeking missile, too. Just likes to lay in the sun.

I am looking desparately for a toy fox terrier. I just lost mine and I am heartbroken. He looked exactly like the picture on your site, white/black/brown with no white on his face and coloring on his body. Do you have any available. I live in Largo Florida

My family got our first TFT when I was 4 years old. She was the most incredible, gentle, loving animal. I have since had two other TFTs. I highly recommend these dogs. They are super-intelligent and make wonderful companions.

Toy Fox Terrier Breed Review by Jimmy Bucci

Friendly & Playful. Must be trained not to bark and yelp. They are a very very smart breed. Training takes time, but does work. They take to commands well. They love to cuddle. Do not overfeed. They are like Gremlins! They love to eat! : ) My Darla is now 12. She was completely house broken in a week to week 1/2. She does not require a leash. Point down to ground is her come signal. Basic commands were all easy to train her. No speak and speak took a good 3 months. But she is a quiet small breed. Unless need be. Highly recommend small breed.

The Toy Fox Terrier is a canine breed originating in the United States in the 1930’s. Bred as a small game hunter, this pup is very athletic and has great hearing. Also known as the “Amertoy”, they are bred of a combination of Smooth Fox Terrier, Italian Greyhound, Manchester Terrier, Chihuahua, and Miniature Pinscher. This little pup is very agile and strong, being able to jump up to four feet high. They have even been able to walk a tightrope! Identifiable traits include large bat-like ears, a naturally short tail, and long thin legs. The Toy Fox Terrier needs daily exercise, but also likes to lounge around watching television and cuddling. Don’t expect them to be too eager to go swimming with you, though. They do not like to be in water or cold weather. Grooming is easy with this breed, only needing occasional combing and nail trimming. The American Kennel Club recognized the Toy Fox Terrier in 2003.
