Reviews for Reuben Esh
Our experience with Reuben was great. We got our Maltipoo (now Vincent) at 15 weeks. He adjusted so quickly, sleeping through the night immediately. He is playful, healthy, and sweet. I definitely recommend Reuben!
- Emily Corrado,We had a great experience picking up our new puppy "Axel" from Reuben. We drove all the way from Rhode Island to get him and it was well worth the trip. If you are looking to get a new pup from Greenfield Puppies and are concerned about some of the negative reviews regarding puppy mills - this is not the case with Reuben. We were concerned when we read the negative reviews about some of the breeders in the area running puppy mills, but after talking this over with Reuben, he mentioned how frustrating it was for him and all the other good breeders on Greenfield Puppies that are getting some of the bad rap because of it. Also, don't be concerned about the price being "too good to be true" because PA is known for puppy breeding, the prices are much lower there than in some of the other nearby states like RI. He mentioned that he keeps his puppies in a covered kennel that gives them access to an outdoor and indoor area to keep them cool or warm. The puppies also live on a farm and he lets them play together in an outdoor playpen. Reuben's nephews and nieces play and interact with the pups so the pups can socialize. The puppies' mom is also onsite and she's a miniature poodle that's free to roam around the farm - so we got to meet her. Our puppy is a 2-month old Maltipoo and he's doing great on his 4th day with us and he is just a delight and is very attached to our 9-year old son. He did great on the 7-hour ride home to RI and didn't even throw up (as some people warned us). Reuben was great at answering our questions, so if you have any questions or concerns you should call him. If he doesn't answer the phone, just leave him a message - he's really good about calling you back. We highly recommend Reuben and his crew. Keep in mind, Reuben only takes cash payments, but he will give you an official canine health certificate that is stamped by the vet - It contains all the vaccine and de-worming info as well as the physical exam results. He was nice enough to also send the pup home with a small bag of the food he was giving him.
- Daniel Rivera,The cavapoo puppy I bought from Reuben is, without exaggeration, one of the best dogs I've ever met. His temperament is superb; he is incredibly friendly, curious, intelligent, and attentive. He is extremely resilient, too - experiences that often traumatize puppies (going to the vet, getting groomed, staying home alone, getting lunged at by an angry dog, flying on a plane in a small carrier, etc) were no problem for him. It's clear he was raised in a healthy, loving, and psychologically safe environment with Reuben. ALSO! While genetics are always up to chance, this cavapoo is VERY hypoallergenic. My S.O. is very allergic to dogs and gets triggered by even other non-shedding, low-allergen dogs like schnauzers; when we arrived at the breeder's, they picked up the puppy and buried their face in his fur. Even half an hour later, their allergies were NOT triggered in the slightest! Their allergies have continued to be a non-issue in the months since we brought this dog home. The breeder is a Mennonite, located on a farm in rural PA (be prepared for a drive!) and it looks like the puppies had plenty of room and nature to play in, people and animals to socialize with, and dirt to strengthen their immune systems. Don't expect Reuben to be too science- or tech-literate, though. When we were talking to him, it wasn't clear if he actually knew what allergies ARE. Regardless, he's a very polite young man, and I would purchase another dog from him in a heartbeat.
